After School Activities

We are now on the seventh week of the the Fall term ASA. There are twenty seven ASAs offered during this term. This wide selection of activities allowed our students to explore different venues to hone their talents and develop new skills. I had the opportunity to visit several of the ASAs and I was glad to see students enjoying their chosen ASA.  A friendly reminder to parents and students:  Only students who have officially signed up for a particular ASA should be attending that ASA each week.   We appreciate your support and cooperation in making our ASA program a successful and enjoyable time for all involved.

The House System

This year the House System was reintroduced to SIS with the Indonesian Independence Games as the first all-school activity involving the houses. Each house earns points from the different competitions that uses the House divisions. The Green House is currently leading the race.

We are now in the process of selecting the House Leaders. These are students who will serve as the leaders of each House. They are tasked with leading their respective Houses during different House activities. The future activities for the Houses include a pep-rally among many others.

Athletics

Our Soccer and Volleyball teams are now busy training. Several friendly matches against different local schools have already scheduled. These friendly matches give our players a chance to play competitively before they participate in the PASS and IISSAC tournaments. The IISSAC Soccer tournament will be on October 26-28 and will be hosted by the Bali Island School while the PASS Soccer tournament will be on November 1-3 here at SIS.

The PASS Volleyball Tournament will be on November 8-10. This year we will have two international schools from outside of Surabaya, Mountainview Christian School and Sekolah Pelita Harapan.  Please come out and join this yearly tournament hosted by SIS.
