Spirit Week hosted by NJHS and Kahoot! House Game

The current situation has drastically limited what we can do in terms of After School Activities. However, this has not slowed down the SIS school spirit. Last week, we celebrated the Indonesian Independence Day through the Spirit Week activities, sponsored by the National Junior Honor Society, and through the Kahoot! House Game for the Secondary students.

The theme for the Spirit Week revolved around Indonesia. Monday was a red and white day, Tuesday was Batik day, while Wednesday was Garuda day. Thursday was traditional mask day and, to cap the week, Friday was house shirts/colors day. We had a good level of participation across the SIS community. It was great to see the pictures of our students, teachers, staff, and parents that showed their take on the theme of the day. Just like before, spirit Week was a House competition and the Black House (Manta Rays) emerged with the most number of spirit week participants.

Kahoot! House Game: Trivia Delight and Sumatran Tigers’ Victory

The Kahoot! House Game was an Indonesian themed trivia game. This was meant to replace the Indonesian traditional games we played in years previous. Each advisory class in the secondary school played a game of Kahoot! during the advisory class. The top from each grade level earned points for their house. The Yellow House (Sumatran Tigers) emerged as the overall winner for Kahoot!

It is inspiring to see that the spirit of the SIS community is strong despite the current situation. We are going to continue to explore different ways to bring the SIS community together until we can be together in person. Go Cobras!
