Dear Elementary Parents,
Welcome back to a new school year at SIS.  Please find important information about the start of the school year here within.  

The first day of school is Thursday, August 2, 2018.  

The bell schedule for the year has changed.  School hours for this year as as follows:  

EC 1 & EC 2:  8:15 – 11:45

EC 3 – Grade 5:  8:15 – 3:05  

Students are asked to arrive on campus no earlier than 7:45.  Students who arrive before 7:45 are required to wait in the lobby until the bell rings.  

EC 1 & EC 2 students will have a staggered entrance.  Please see your email from Ms. Maya regarding your child’s school schedule for the first weeks of school (August 2 – August 10).  Please ensure that your children come to school with a healthy morning snack on their designated day.  

EC 3 students will not begin nap/quiet time for the first weeks of school (August 2 – August 10).  Parents are asked to pick up their child at 1:15 each day.  Please ensure your child comes to school with a healthy morning snack and lunch. Teachers will send out a notice regarding nap/quiet time on the first day of school.  

EC 4 students will have a regular schedule beginning on Thursday, August 2, 2018.  Please ensure that your child comes to school with a healthy morning snack, and lunch.  In addition, if your child stays for nap/quiet time, ensure they have their bed roll.  Finally if your child won’t be staying for nap/quiet time, please pick him/her up promptly at 1:15.  

Kindergarten – Grade 5 students will have a regular school day.  Please ensure your child has a healthy morning snack and a lunch.  Kindergarten – Grade 5 students can purchase lunch at the canteen.  If your child is purchasing lunch, ensure they have money.  

All teachers will send home a welcome letter, class schedule, and supply list on the first day of school.  

New student orientation for students new to SIS is on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 beginning at 1:00 in the library.
