Exciting News: IISSAC Swim 2023 at SIS

Our swim team and badminton teams competed in the Indonesian International Small School Activity Conference (IISSAC) competitions April 27 – 29, 2018.  The swimming competition was held in Bandung and the badminton competition was held in Malang.

Badminton

SIS was well represented at the IISSAC Badminton tournament this year.  Our boys team came home with a 2nd place finish.  Our girls team, once again, came home with the championship banner, finishing first at the IISSAC Badminton tournament.

Individual medals also provided opportunities for our teams to shine.  In the girls single division we brought home two gold and one silver.  In the doubles division, we brought home two gold.  The boys brought home a silver in both the singles and doubles division.

Congratulations to the students and coaches on a successful tournament.  You made us all proud.

Swimming

This year’s IISSAC Swim took the Cobras to Bandung, the capital of West Java, as Bandung Alliance Independent School (BAIS) played host to this event. Most of the team members headed to Bandung on April 26 while the rest of the team traveled the next day.

It was an exciting weekend for everyone. All the preparations, hard work, and practices paid off. This was a good year for the SIS IISSAC Swim team. Team spirit was high and everyone was upbeat. All the swimmers performed really well in each of their events and some of them even broke IISSAC records. The girls’ team landed third overall at the end of the tournament.

Each day of the tournament was long and tiring, but our swimmers were always at the top of their game. The level of dedication showed by our swimmers was remarkable, and their discipline was impressive. It was heartwarming to see how the older swimmers took care of the younger members of the team. They all cheered for each other.  All of these would not have happened, if it were not for the support of our dear parents throughout the competition.

Last, but definitely not the least, we thank our amazing coaches, Purnomo and Lucky, as well as Ms. Alice, for their incredible dedication, commitment, and hard work in training our Cobra swimmers this year.

We are excited to announce that SIS is hosting next year’s IISSAC Swim.  The Cobra Swimmers will be back stronger and faster.
