First grade students have been learning about how we express ourselves; how story can engage an audience.  We are working with the SIS drama teacher, Ms. Andrea Leadbetter to explore voice, character and movement as a way to enhance our expression of ideas and sharing of story.  Students have chosen stories to make into scripts, plan and organize their props and costumes as well as learn to memorize their lines and internalize the action that makes their characters “come to life”.  It is a complex and exciting process for students (and teacher) and we look forward to sharing our plays during our performances at the end of this unit of inquiry.
