An IB World School authorized to offer the IB PYP (EC 3 – Grade 5), SIS is the only Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Accreditation of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC) accredited institution in Surabaya.

Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)

ACS WASC accreditation is a school improvement process that serves as the foundation for quality education. An accredited school is a statement to the broader community and the stakeholders that it is a trustworthy institution for student learning and is committed to ongoing improvement.

  • The public is assured that accredited institutions are evaluated extensively and conform to expectations of performance and quality.  Because of the consistent need for review and evaluation, the public can be assured that the educational quality of programs and services offered by the school are current, reflect high standards of quality, and are offered with integrity.
  • That personnel be qualified for the position they hold and meet any requirements of governmental or private associations. Teachers are expected to be fully credentialed per state mandates.
  • Students can be assured that the schools in which they seek to enroll have been reviewed and the educational programs that are offered have been evaluated for quality.

International Baccalaureate (IB)

Surabaya Intercultural School is fully authorized to deliver the prestigious International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme (PYP) for our EC 3 – Grade 5 students. This programme provides an internationally-recognized education and prepares children for easy transfer to the IB Diploma or other education systems. EARCOS

The East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS) is an organization of 158 member schools in East Asia.

These schools have a total of more than 132,000 pre-K to 12th grade students.
Membership in EARCOS is open to elementary and secondary schools in East Asia which offer an educational program using English as the primary language of instruction, and to other organizations, institutions, and individuals interested in the objectives and purposes of the Council.
