Celebrating Success: Wrapping Up a Fruitful 1st Term of ASAs

Acknowledging Teachers and Parents for Fun and Educational After School Activities

Two weeks more to go before we reach the end of a successful 1st term of the ASAs. Thank you to all the teachers and parents who lead fun and educational activities for our students.

It is a wonderful sight to see our students staying active and learning after school.

The sign up for the 2nd term will begin the week of November 11, 2019. The 2nd term will start on November 18 and end on February 14, 2020. We are looking forward to continuing to offer worthwhile after school activities for all our students.

It has been an intense season for our Volleyball teams. They have been hard at work in practice and training for the PASS Volleyball Tournament, which will be at SIS from October 31 to November 2. As a part of their training, our teams played several friendly games with some local schools.  They also participated in the MCS Invitational Tournament hosted by Mountainview Christian School in Salatiga. Our teams performed well in that tournament.

Even though the boys’ team did not make it past the quarterfinals, they played their hearts out each game against the strong teams in that tournament. Our girls’ team made it to the semifinals but failed to make it to the next round. Nonetheless, it was an impressive showing for the girls’ team. It was amazing to witness their improvement in each game they played.

This weekend our Soccer teams will compete in the IISSAC Soccer tournament hosted by Bandung Alliance Intercultural School. Prior to this tournament, our teams played a couple of friendly games with local schools in Surabaya before competing in the PASS Soccer tournament. Our boys’ team has shown tremendous improvement this year as evidenced by a third-place finish in the recent PASS tournament. Meanwhile, the girls’ team remained a strong contender despite losing some of last year’s senior players. We are excited to see how our teams are going to perform in this year’s IISSAC Soccer tournament! There is no doubt that they will make SIS proud.
